The Raja Ampat Research and Conservation Center (RARCC) hosted a team from the Seattle Aquarium and Conservation International in April 2019. This visit was related to their interest in having a large Coral Triangle focus in their displays.
The visit was led by the Director of Conservation Programs and Partnerships at the Seattle Aquarium Erin Meyer. The manager Brad Rutherfort, the biologists Tim Carpenter and Andy Sim and the biologist and dive safety officer Joel Hollander joined her in the five-day visit.
Also, three staff from Conservation International, including the Marine Program Coordinator in Indonesia Susie Vulpas joined the group to assist them.
The staff of the museum were looking for sites in the Coral Triangle where they could make a strong connection and have ongoing conservation programs that could link to displays at their aquarium.
